“I always felt like a great weight had been lifted off my shoulders following my sessions with Simon”
My name is Simon, I am a Qualified Level 4 CPCAB counselling Practitioner based in Jersey. I offer 1 hour online as well as face to face counselling support.
I have been working as a counsellor for the past 4 years, offering support, guidance and reassurance to people in Jersey, to help improve their mental health and well being.
I specialise as a person centred counsellor, in short I believe that you have the answers to your own questions, and that I am here to facilitate a safe environment, in which you are able to find those answers.
Why am I so passionate about counselling?
Throughout our lives, each of us faces challenges, and experiences which have a significant impact on our mental well being, and each of us has different ways in which we have managed to cope and work through these situations. Some of us find it easier to manage our thoughts and feelings, and may find it easier to deal with these and to move on than others.
In my life I too have struggled to find acceptance, and to contend with certain life events that have taken place. This has left me finding it hard to deal with my emotions and ability to move past these situations.
These experiences left me feeling the need to have someone to talk to in a non-judgmental capacity, and to help me to see past this and to carry on living my life.
I am passionate about counselling and supporting others, as I feel I understand what it is like to struggle to cope with a situation and the feelings it brings up for me. Through gaining help myself, I understand how valuable it is to have someone there to truly listen to you and to be present with you when you feel like no one else understands you, or cares to listen to what you have to say.
I care about helping people. I wish to help you to find value in yourself, and to learn to manage whatever situation it is you are going through.
What can I help you with?
Each of us in life faces certain situations that may be overwhelming or simply too difficult for us to manage alone. I can offer my support to help you work with and to understand your thoughts and feelings around these issues.

What happens in the first session?
In our first session together, I would offer you the client, a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space. This space helps you to focus on areas in your life you may be struggling to understand and manage.
This space will also help you to process your thoughts, feelings and issues that may be impacting your ability to fully enjoy or live your life in the way that you would wish too.
The first session is for you to be as open and honest as you wish to be about who you are, and how you are feeling in this moment. As the counsellor, it is for me to be fully present and to listen to your needs, and to gain an understanding of what your expectations of counselling are, and what it is I can support you with during our time together.
